Description

On September 28th 1976 in Yankee Stadium, Bronx, New York, USA. Muhammad Ali and Ken Norton fought for the World Heavyweight Championship and completing their trilogy.

Norton broke Ali’s jaw in the 2nd round of their first meeting and won the fight by a split decision. In their second fight Ali won by a split decision. This last fight was just as grueling as the others and after a very hard fought 15 rounds, Ali won a close unanimous points decision.

After the fight Norton said, ‘I won at least nine or ten rounds. I was robbed.’ Ali said, ‘I had just enough to win. I know I’m the winner.’ Ali said during an interview with Mark Cronin in October 1976, ‘Kenny’s style is too difficult for me. I can’t beat him, and I sure don’t want to fight him again.’
